OWWA OFW e-Card launched in Region 1
FAMILIES of Pangasinan Overseas Fillipino Workers (OFW) have been advised to secure their OWWA OFW e-Cards for membership and benefits launched by the Overseas Workers Welfare Regional Welfare Office I on November 6, 2018.
The first batch of e-Cards were released to Balik-Manggagawa Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who have registered online via OWWA’s official website, www.owwa.gov.ph.
The OFW e-Card will provide easy and faster access to OWWA programs and services that include welfare services, education and training programs, reintegration programs and social benefits.
The OFW e-Card is available for free to all balik-manggagawa OFWs who have active OWWA membership, valid overseas employment certificate (OEC) number or exemption number and valid passport.
The e-Card, which contains a unique quick response code or “QR code”, may be presented by OFWs at any regional welfare office or at the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLO) and embassies/consulates and scanned for easier access to programs and services and for authenticity verification.
Since it is issued by a government agency, the e-Card may also be used as a valid government identification card.
Balik-manggagawa OFWs who have successfully registered online with corresponding tracking numbers may also check the status of their e-Cards thru the online tracking system at OWWA’s official website.
Authorized representatives, preferably a family member, may claim the OFW’s e-card by presenting original authorization letter and a copy of the OFW’s passport identifying page. (OWWA1)
