Governor Espino hails outstanding youth leaders

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Amado I. Espino commended the efforts of young leaders who earned Youth Achievement Awards during the 5th Youth Leadership Summit and Innovation held at the Sison Auditorium on November 20.
Underscoring some youth issues faced by the younger generation, Governor Espino strongly called on the “future leaders” to continue pursuing their dreams and make their studies a priority.
“You are the future of Pangasinan,” he stated pledging that the provincial government also aims to give a ‘brighter future’ to the young Pangasinenses who are student from various schools under DepEd Schools Division of Pangasinan I.
Emphasizing the risk of impulsive decision-making, the provincial chief executive challenged the participants to be leaders of their communities and set a noble legacy for the youth to follow.
Joining the governor in awarding certificates of recognition to 16 outstanding youth leaders was Lingayen District Hospital (LDH) Chief Dr. Athena Marie C. Merrera and Dr. John R. Ferrer.
Among the top 16 youth awardees are: Austin Ragiel Marc Dela Rosa (Pangasinan National High School), Jomel Aaron D. De Vera (Labrador National High School), Kurt Gerald E. Torres (PNHS), Prince John Basuel (Dasol Eguia National High School), Zayra Grace B. Llobrera (Calasiao Comprehensive National High School), Janina F. Idos (Daniel Maramba National High School), Lady Lee S. Matabang (Urbiztondo National High School), James Marc B. Aquino (Bayambang National High School), Princess Gerem Mae M. Bautista (Binmaley North Central School), Karen M. Delos Santos (Aguilar Integrated School), Piel Michela P. Fernandez (DMNHS), Michaela Lana Faye C. Victorio (PNHS), Sheina Marie P. Papio (Bayambang National High School), Junella B. Nama (Infanta Integrated High School), Gwyneth Jill C. Ballesteros (DMNHS), and Crissa Mae T. Muyalde (Pangasinan National High School.
Now on its fifth year, the Youth Leadership Summit and Innovation which was anchored on the theme: “Creating better opportunities through innovation,” aims to build a more healthy and productive youth to contribute to nation building. /Shiella Mae C. De Guzman
