Ex-Bayambang councilor shot dead, teacher wounded
BAYAMBANG – A former three-term municipal councilor here and another person with him were gunned down Friday morning, November 16, by still unidentified suspects while he was jogging along a dike in Barangay Zone 1 this town.

Levin Uy, a three-term councilor and currently a municipal aide, succumbed to gunshot wounds and declared dead on arrival at Bayambang District Hospital around 6:50 a.m. near his residence by a lone gunman, according to P/Superintendent Fidel Junio, the town police chief.
A teacher, Cesar Salusagcol, who was talking to Uy, was also wounded in the incident and rushed to the Bayambang District Hospital for treatment. His fate was still undetermined at presstime.
Mayor Cezar Quiambao strongly condemned Uy’s killing even as he urged authorities to look into it and arrest the perpetrators.
Uy belonged to Quiambao ticket and was a trusted man by the mayor in some of the municipal and personal ventures.
