Dagupan students being trained as young entrepreneurs

THE City Accounting Office’s Business and Livelihood Literacy (Bulilit) program continues to inspire young Dagupan students, as exemplified by the students of North Central Elementary School (NCES) who served as young entrepreneurs during a mini trade fair held in their campus on November 20.
This was the third time that the accounting office has given entrepreneurship training for young students in different schools in the city.
The program, held in partnership with the “Gulayan sa Paaralan” project of the City Agriculture Office and the Department of Education, encourages students to learn the basics of business and entrepreneurship by teaching them how to use their money wisely through the products they harvested from their gulayan.
City Accountant Melissa Mendoza underscored the importance of teaching the value of hard-earned income and money.
“We launched this program to help the youth by teaching them how to use their money wisely,” said Mendoza.
She said her office plans to conduct the Bulilit program in all schools in the city.
“We also plan to return and see if they learned from the program. If we see some progress, we could introduce other business (strategies),” added Mendoza. (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
