THE Second and Fourth Engineering Districts of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) estimated damage to national roads and bridges in Pangasinan on account of Typhoon Ompong reached P400 million.

District Engineer Edita Manuel, said most of the affected infrastructures are road shoulders.

One of the heavily damaged bridges was the Cayanga Bridge in San Fabian. The southern approach collapsed owing to the strong current of flood water.

The bridge was temporarily closed to all types of vehicles and was opened Monday night of September 17 after it was repaired by the DPWH.
