7 arrested for unlicensed firearms, bullets
LINGAYEN–Seven persons were arrested by the police in simultaneous
search warrant operations in the campaign against unlicensed firearms in
three towns on September 19.
Arrested in Asingan by virtue of search warrants to father and his two sons, Victoriano Aquino Sr, 74; his son, Victoriano Jr., 34, and son Vicente, 50.
Seized from the Victorino Sr. and Jr., in their resident at Barangay Coldit, were one Caspian Cal. 45 pistol with one magazine containing two bullets, four bullets for 12-gauge shotgun and one magnum Cal. 357 revolver with 13 ammunition.
Found separately at Vicente’s house were one Armscor Cal. 45 and 20 bullets, three bullets for Cal. 30; and two magazines for Cal. 45 pistol.
Lawmen also served search warrant in the adjacent house of the three suspects was one Leonard Pataray, alias “Onad”, 41. Seized from him were Cal. 38 pistol loaded with five bullets and two bullets for for Cal. 45. Pistol.
All the search warrants were served by joint elements of the Provincial Mobile Force 2nd Company headed by Chief Inspector Ador Tayag, officer-in-charge.
In Pozorrubio, two holders of unlicensed firearms were arrested by lawmen on
the same day. Served search warrants Bernardo Baterina, alias “Benny”, 65, of Barangay Palguyod and Rogelio Obra of Barangay Inoman.
Elements of the Pozorrubio Police led by Chief Inspector Joseph Mark Sibayan seized one Armscor Cal. 45 pistol, two magazines and eight bullets from Baterina’s house while two bullets for Cal. 45 were seized from the house of Obra.
In Infanta, at Sitio Tabtaban in Barangay Bamban, elements of PMFC 1st Company, and RMFB-1 led by P/Sr. Inspector Oliver Baniqued served a search warrant to one Alex Rodolfo. Found in his house were eight bullets for Cal. 38
and one bullet for 12-gauge shotgun.
All the suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. (Leonardo Micua)
