‘Say Daloy so Manlilibit’ wins contest

PISTA’Y DAYAT’S BEST SAND SCULPTURE

LINGAYEN—The “Say Daloy so Manlilibit” (Ang Alon ang Nagdadala) entry of an artists’ group from Lingayen led by Warren Paneda earned the judges’ nod as the best sand sculpture in this year’s Pista’y Dayat festival.

Runners-up in the sand sculpting contest (young adult category, 16-25 years-old) were “Dalan na Bilay ed Dayat” (Daan ng Buhay sa Dagat) by an artists’ group from Lingayen, and Marine and Coastal Conservation for the Next Sanctuary of Future Generation by the Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades.

In the young teens category (7-15 years-old), the top three winners were: “Nantupagan” (Magkapares), best sand sculpture; Tribal Fish, first runner-up; and Pagong, second runner-up.

Engr. Paul B. Frias, Provincial Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council officer-in-charge, led the awarding ceremony at the Capitol beachfront on April 30.

Frias said 20 groups participated in by the young adult category, and five groups in the young teens category based on the theme “Say Dayat tayo in the Future”.

Cash prizes in the young adult category were ₱30,000 (champion), P20,000 (1st runner-up), and ₱10,000 (2nd runner-up); in the young adult category, P8,000 (champion), ₱5,000 (1st runner-up), and ₱3,000 (2nd runner-up).

All non-winning participants (young adult category) received ₱3,200, young teens category received ₱2,000 each. (PIO/MGNO)
