Mapandan’s 5th most wanted man dies in shoot-out
MANAOAG—The fifth most wanted man in Mapandan town and a companion who was still unidentified at presstime were killed in what was described as an armed encounter with policemen of Manaoag along the coastal road in Poblacion here at about 6:05 p.m. on May 21.
The identified suspect, Ramon Libagan, a resident of Barangay Nilombot, Mapandan, is at the top of the five most wanted persons in Mapandan town.
The two were on board a blue motorcycle without a license plate when they were intercepted by elements of the Manaoag police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection (CIDG).
A report said the two had just robbed a delivery truck of the Morales Lumber and Construction Supply in Barangay Sapang, Manaoag town when the police caught up with them.
Responding policemen chased the suspects who fired at the lawmen when cornered in the Poblacion area. The police said they fired back and killed the suspects.
Recovered from them were two Cal. 38 revolvers, a bag containing an undetermined amount of money and their motorcycle. (Leonardo Micua)
