LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Amado I. Espino, III sought support and suggestions from the Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC) on how to further expand the services of the provincial administration on social development.

In stating this during the RSDC 2nd quarterly meeting held at the Capitol Resort Hotel on May 21, Governor Espino expressed gratitude to the RSDC member agencies and institutions for their efforts in shaping social development in Region 1, particularly in Pangasinan.

“We are working together in the best way we can to realize things which need to be accomplished,” said Governor Espino, who asked their full-support in giving solutions to the issues confronting the multi-faceted society.

Convened by Department of Education Regional Director Alma Ruby Torio, RSDC chairperson, the meeting encompassed policy formulation and planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management research and internal operations.

DepEd Regional Director Torio, in response, assured RSDC’s full support to the development thrusts of the provincial government which contribute to social development.

Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba, in earlier part of the meeting, noted that the provincial government has been active in engaging with the RSDC for the fact that Pangasinan, being the largest in Region 1, constitutes a largest share of the region’s social development status.

“Lahat ng pangyayari sa aming probinsya ay nakakaapekto sa datos ng buong rehiyon. We are well-aware of that kung kayat aktibo sa RSDC ang probinsya ng Pangasinan,” Camba said.

Giving the RSDC member agencies and institutions an overview of the province’s best practices in social development, two Audio Visual Presentations : Social Media Best Practices by the Provincial Information Office, and the Accelerated Certified Palay Seed Production and Distribution by the Office of the Provincial Agriculture, which were both presented during Seal of Good Local Governance validation last year, were shown prior to the meeting proper.

Also present during the RSDC meeting were: Executive Assistant IV Ramon Morden, and Provincial Information Officer Orpheus Velasco. /Mark Gerry Naval Oblanca
