Dagupan City opens bangus fest sports week

THE Bangus Festival Sports Week officially kicked off on April 6 with the Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR) National Championships held at the Tondaligan Blue Beach.
It was followed on Saturday by the simultaneous Chess Championships, Swimming Long Course Championship, and Badminton Invitational Tournament.
On Sunday, iconic volleyball players in the country, including “Phenom of Philippine Volleyball” Alyssa Valdez, conducted a free high training seminar for some 300 Dagupeños eager to learn beach volleyball.
“By creating competitions like these, we further enhance and develop the skills of our children,” Mayor Belen T. Fernandez said. “We are planning to make Dagupan a city of sports.”
