Drug dealer bites cop’s hand to elude arrest
NANLABAN WITH HIS TEETH
CALASIAO—A visibly unarmed newly identified drug pusher who attempted to resist being arrested fought back with what he thought could work – he bit the hand of the arresting police officer who held his arm. But to no avail.
Arrested by intelligence operatives of the Calasiao Police was Rommel Gonzales, alias “Bing”, 41, of Barangay Mancup, who sold one sachet of shabu to an undercover police operative.
After the sale was consummated in the buy-bust operation near a gasoline station along the national highway in Barangay Talibaew, Calasiao early evening on March 22, Gonzales was promptly arrested with the marked P500 in his possession.
Gonzalez suddenly resisted and attempted to escape by biting the hand of the arresting officer who was holding him in the arm but he was easily subdued.
Recovered from the suspect were assorted coins, another sachet of shabu wrapped on a white tissue, black sling bag, towel, ball cap, identification card, lighter, cellphone and charger and another sachet of shabu wrapped on used receipts.
But a further search on the tricycle that Gonzales used, the operatives found a cal. 38 revolver with four bullets. Cases for violation of Section 5 and 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165 and violation of R.A. 10591 are now being prepared against the arrested suspect. (Leonardo Micua)
