Budol-budol gang victimizes two students
SAN CARLOS CITY–Two students of San Carlos City were victimized by members of the “budol-budol” gang who tricked the two into giving them their cellphones and jewelry.
The victims, identified as Marietoni Inciong, 14, of Brgy. Bugallon, San Carlos City and Kyla Castro, 16, of Brgy. San Juan, both in Grade 9, personally appeared before the San Carlos City police station to report the incident.
The suspects took away Castro’s Vivo cellphone amounting to more or less Php 4, 500. and a gold necklace valued at Php 5, 000.00 while Inciong lost a CherryMobile cellphone valued at Php 3,000.00, mid-afternoon on March 20 in Barangay Bonifacio, San Carlos City.
Both victims said they were approached by one female suspect who asked them to accompany her to find a truck she could rent in Barangay Bonifacio.
Upon reaching the North Point Bank on their way to Barangay Bonifacio, one male person emerged and told her female companion that he already found a truck to be rented.
Then the female suspect pretending to rush to the place, entrusted the two students a paper bag that purportedly contained P10,000 and asked the two students to give the necklace and their cellphones as surety. Without hesitation, the two obliged.
The two suspects told the victims to proceed to BDO branch in adjacent Barangay Palaris and wait while they go and sign the contract for the truck rental.
The suspects never appeared at the appointed place and time and they discovered that the paper bag did not have cash but neatly arranged bundle of paper.
The San Carlos police are now reviewing the CCTV footage where the incident happened in order to trace the suspects. (Leonardo Micua)
