Bangus Fest to hold sports events for families
THE 2018 edition of the annual Bangus Festival promises to be fun-filled with activities engaging families.
This was promised by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez having declared 2018 as the Year of the Family and said “Fun, fun, fun ed Tondaligan” will be a sports fest for families.
Tourism Officer Sharon Maramba said the sports activities lined up specifically for families’ will consist of traditional games of yesteryears like the popular Palosebo (bamboo climbing), Guyuran (tug of war) and Lumbaan ed Sako (sack race).
With the theme “Fun, fun, fun ed Tondaligan: Family Sports Fest”, families are urged to participate in the games at the Tondaligan Beach on April 3 starting at 7 a.m..
Maramba said cash prizes are at stake.
Three games of Guyuran will be played and winners will get P2,500 each while non-winners will receive a consolation prize of P1,000 each.
There will be four games of Lumbaan ed Sako and the winners will receive P2,500 each and non-winners will get a consolation prize of P1,000 each.
In Palo sebo, only teens will be allowed to climb the greased bamboo to win P2,500 and a consolation prize of P1,500 each for non-winners.
All the games will all be played at the Tondaligan Beach. (CIO/JCB)
