Help for displaced OFW’s from Kuwait set
THE Provincial Employment and Service Office (PESO) is set to conduct a job fair on February 27 to help the displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s) from Kuwait to land a job.
Alex Ferrer, PESO provincial manager, said OFWs who availed of the repatriation and amnesty program will have priority in the jobs offered.
However, Ferrer said his office has not received any data on the number of Pangasinenses among the displaced OFW’s from Kuwait except the information that there were at least 100 OFWs from Region 1 who availed the repatriation program.
The job fair on February 27 in PESO Capitol Ground will offer opportunities for household helpers in Japan, and the good news is, the OFW’s are stay out with only 8 hours duty plus overtime pay with a minimum monthly salary of P70,000.
On February 28, another job fair is set by the PESO for job seekers in Pozorubio and nearby towns to be held in PESO Pozorrubio, Ferrer said.
Ferrer advised the jobseekers to be vigilant against illegal recruiters who are victimizing the public in online job opening or the house to house racket or modus operandi of the illegal recruiters.
He said, applicants should verify job vacancies in PESO office to avoid illegal recruiters. (Nora Dominguez)
