VMUF grad is Top 2 in Dental Board Exam
SAN CARLOS CITY—A 23-year old alumna of Virgen Milgarosa University Foundation (VMUF) finished 2nd top place in the recently administered Dental Licensure Examination.
It was a dream come true for Dr. Alyssa Jachelle C. Zacarias from Barangay Cacaritan this city who earned an 83.90 percent rating, less than one-point shy from top 1 Pauline Tiffany Ong Uy from the University of the East-Manila who got 84.70 percent.
A probinsiyana alumna, Alyssa Jachelle Zacarias of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, made it to top 2 in the recently released Dentist Board Exam.
Zacarias said all she prayed for was to pass the board exam “but God gave me more than what I asked”.
“The exam was too difficult, I thought I would not pass it,” she said in an interview.
“I can’t believe it,” she added.
Her father, Engr. Arnold Zacarias, who works in VMUF as Maintenance and Engineering head, relayed to her the happy news as soon as he got the result around 4:00 p.m. on Jan. 10.
Alyssa said as a child, she had dreamt of becoming a dentist like her mom, Dr. Marivic Zacarias.
She plans to practice dentistry in her mom’s clinic here while at the same time pursue further studies in her field in another school.
Zacarias studied her elementary and high school in Ednas School in their barangay.
She was first honorable mention when she graduated in high school.
When she finished college, she was awarded as the Most Outstanding Dentistry Student of her class and a consistent Dean’s lister.
In addition to reading books, listened carefully to lectures and understanding lectures instead of memorizing facts, Zacarias said having no love life helped her achieve what she has today.
VMUF management plans to give a thanksgiving Mass and organize motorcade in the city for her and the other board passers. (Eva Visperas)
