SP commends new bowling world champ from Alcala
LINGAYEN—More than two months after Krisshia Lyn B. Tabora of Alcala town ruled the 53rd Qubica AMF Bowling World Championship last November 11, 2017 in Hermosillo, Mexico, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution commending her for her feat that brought honor to the country.
Authored by 5th District Board Member Chinky Perez-Tababa, chairman of the committee on Youth and Sports, the resolution said “the award-winning performance of Tabora deserves felicitations of the Pangasinan community in the limelight of sports arena specially the youth, her kabaleyans and fellow bowlers.”
Tabora defeated Siti Safiyah of Malaysia.
“It has been a good year for me. Our ladies team won bronze in the SEA Games and then we got silver in the Asian Indoor Games. But this is far and away the best”, said the 27- year old champion after her win.
Tabora was the fifth Filipino to win World Bowling Cup Championship after Christian Suarez in 2003, Lita de la Rosa in 1978, Olivia Bong Coo Garcia in 1979, and the Philippine legend Paeng Nepomuceno in 1976, 1980, and 1992 and 1996.
The Qubica AMF Bowling Cup, formerly known as the International Masters and AMF Bowling World Cup, is an annual Ten-pin bowling championship. (John Victor Ganchero, CdD)
