He said, the construction of Baywalk and the Boardwalk in the Dagupan City is expected to be completed this year.

Dion served 41 years of service in the DPWH and 18 years as district engineer. He said he started as district engineer in 1999 in Pangasinan First Engineering District based in Alaminos.

He was appointed district engineer in second engineering district based in Lingayen in 2003 and was transferred in Candon, Ilocos Sur in 2013.

He was again appointed district engineer of Pangasinan Second Engineering District in 2014 and will retire this year for reaching his mandatory retirement age of 65.

Among the projects he implemented that he considers were important were the elevation and widening of the AB Fernandez Avenue, Arellano, Mayombo and Tapuac Road which were flood prone areas and recently the construction of Tambac Tebeng Mangin Road; the construction of Judge Jose De Venecia Highway and De Venecia Highway Extension Road and the Baywalk along Lingayen-Binmaley coastline.

He credited Congressmen Leopoldo Bataoil and De Venecia, Governor Amado Espino Jr.  and mayors of Dagupan for the early completion of the projects.

Masaya lang tayo na magreretiro dahil yang mga projects na yan, especially sa Dagupan ay makikita at pakikinabang din ng aking mga anak at mga apo,” Dion added. (Nora Dominguez)
