OPLAN BILANG BOGA, KONTRA BOGA

OPLAN Bilang Boga of the Pangasinan police continue to bear fruits as the campaign against loose firearms intensifies.

An official of the Juan Macaraeg National High School (formerly known as Binalonan National High School) surrendered two unlicensed caliber .38 revolver to the Binalonan Police Station.

Angel Coroña, Administrative Officer II of the school personally appeared and deposited the firearms with expired licenses on March 2015 both registered to Binalonan National High School.

In Basista town, Angelo Michael Ramos, businessman of Poblacion Basista turned over to Basista Police Station his unlicensed cal. 9mm Glock pistol whose license expired last June 2016.

A Norico pistol with six bullets and three magazines for cal. 45, one magazine and fifteen bullets for cal. 9mm were personally presented and deposited by Rafael Landingin, a teacher and resident of Barangay Uyong to Labrador Police Station for safe keeping.

P/ Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, Police Community Relations (PCR) Chief of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office said, these were among the recent results of Bilang Boga, visiting gun owner to remind them to renew their gun licenses.

So far, 58 different firearms have been surrendered and 41 firearms were confiscated since January 1 to present.

Meanwhile Oplan ‘Kontra Boga’, the operation against loose firearms already resulted in the confiscation of 9 firearms, arrest of 12 persons from the 9 operations conducted since January 1 to present.

Florentino added that from January 1 to December 27, 2017, a total 310 search warrants were served out of which 222 resulted in arrests while 88 yielded negative. These also resulted in confiscation of 367 firearms, 39 explosives and 353 persons arrested. (Nora Dominguez)
