The grand parade was led by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, along with City Councilors Chito Samson, Jose Netu M. Tamayo, 2017 City Fiesta Hermano Mayor Marcelino Fernandez and candidates for the Mr and Ms Balon Dagupan.

“There has never been any satisfying day than today as we formally open the Dagupan City Fiesta. The celebration that we mark today is a celebration of our faith in each other. A celebration of hope that we will rise and grow as a progressive city, a celebration of so many great changes that is now taking place throughout the city,” the mayor said in her Christmas message during the opening program and the lighting of the giant Christmas Tree.

Fernandez said the city’s transformation into the city that everyone wants for their children has started and like the rushing train, the city’s progress is unstoppable and no force, no opposition, no evil scheme is so strong to stop the inevitable to keep the city off the tracks.

The opening parade and the lighting of the Christmas tree was organized by Dagupan City National High School principal Erly Datario with Leonora Morga Fernandez, Herizz Perez and Renato Santillan as co-chairmen. (CIO/JCB)
