Brgy. volunteer workers in P’sinan receive cash assistance

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – “Wag po sana kayong magsawang pagsilbihan ang inyong barangay dahil marami pa po tayong trabaho,” said Governor Amado I. Espino, III as he led the distribution of amelioration for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Day Care Workers (DCWs) and Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs) on December 20 and 21.
Some 13, 415 BHWs, 1,499 DCWs, and 2,311 BSPOs assigned from districts 1 to 6 in Pangasinan received P1,000 financial assistance each from the provincial government as a reward or token for their dedication.
Gov. Espino eagerly reiterated that the efforts and services of BHWs are priceless.
“Ito pong maliit na bagay ay pagkilala sa inyong mga sakripisyo sa barangay na talaga namang wala pong kapalit,” Gov. Espino stated as he vowed to continue the good governance and legacy of his father, former governor and now representative of the 5th district Congressman Amado T. Espino, Jr.
“Hindi po magbabago ang relasyon ng provincial government sa inyong mga barangay at mga barangay health workers at maging ang ating relasyon na pagsilbihan ang ating mga kababayan sa probinsiya ng Pangasinan,” Gov. Espino added.
Assisting Gov. Espino during the distribution was Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members BM Angel M. Baniqued, Jr. and BM Generoso D. Tulagan, Jr., BM Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, PSWD Officer Emilio P. Samson, Jr., and Provincial Population Officer Ellsworth Gonzales.
Vice Gov. Calimlim expressed his gratitude to the persistent efforts of the barangay workers as he disclosed the firm support of the provincial government, mainly, of Gov. Espino to make this grant possible.
“Walong taon na po akong bumibisita sa bawat distribution of amelioration at sa araw na ito ay pasko na… dahil ang ating mahal na mahal na gobernador ay naririto upang bigyan kayo ng munting pagkilala bago sumapit ang pasko,” Vice Gov. Calimlim further noted.
It can be recalled that the granting of financial assistance was passed through Provincial Resolution No. 691-2017 which was unanimously approved on December 4 by the provincial board headed by Vice Gov. Calimlim. /Shiella Mae C. De Guzman
