PNP-Petron launches Lakbay Ligtas
THE Philippine National Police (PNP) and Petron launched its Lakbay Ligtas program in the region on Oct. 24 in Dagupan City committing 1,000 booths in Petron stations nationwide to assist motorists and provide prompt police response during emergencies.
Cris Cruz, Petron area sales manager for Northwest Luzon, said the presence of police outposts in key Petron stations provides PNP increased visibility and presence, and faster response time to emergencies, which in turn leads to safer communities.
PNP-Petron Lakbay Ligtas program was launched two years ago as a pioneering program in 20 stations in Manila, Bulacan and Laguna.
“Today, in partnership with the PNP. we expand Lakbay Ligtas to 1,000 stations in support of the crime against criminality,” Cruz said.
Lakbay Ligtas was expanded in 2016 and covered 300 more Petron stations across the country, this year, motorists can feel safer with 1,000 booths stations in Petron stations ready to respond and assist.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez lauded PNP and Petron for their project that ensures safety of communities.
She said the presence of booths in Dagupan will boost Belen 911 program.
PNP Region 1 director Chief Supt. Charlo Collado also commended Petron for its commitment to communities by providing easier access for police assistance and timely response especially during emergency cases. (Eva Visperas)
