PPPO has 350 newly promoted personnel
VALUE your promotions.
This was the advice of Police Provincial Director P/Sr. Superintendent Ronald Lee, to the 350 newly promoted non-commissioned (PO2 to SPO4) and commissioned officers (Inspector to Chief Inspectors).
Newly promoted to their new ranks were 27 Police Officers 2 (PO2), 38 Police Officers 3 (PO3), 170 Senior Police Officers 1 (SPO1), 42 Senior Police Officers 3 (SPO3), 14 Senior Police Officers 4 (SPO4), 5 Police Senior Inspectors (PSI) and 1 Police Chief Inspector (PCI).
PD Lee and NAPOLCOM Provincial Director Atty. Edwin Mapili preside over the promotion ceremony.
Lee’s reminded them of the quote “With great power, comes great responsibilities.”
He urged them to value their promotions which they worked hard for because their value can be lost with the wink of an eye if they violate the code of conduct like indiscriminate firing of their issued firearms and end up with disciplinary action.
He said the promotion of these policemen was ordered by the Police Regional Office 1 based at Camp Oscar Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union.
While there have been no cases of demotion in the province, Lee said in an interview, that some have been suspended for various offenses, and misconduct.
Meanwhile, he said the newly promoted chief inspectors may need to wait a little longer to be promoted to Superintendents, even as he said some of them may be transferred to other provinces in the region who need them to fill up posts that required their ranks.
He said the promotions were ordered by the Police Regional Office 1 based at Camp Oscar Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union.
Lee also announced that recruitment of new policemen is now done online replacing the system that required applicants to submit their applications to the Police Provincial Office through the town and city police stations.
The new system can no longer be influenced by patronage system of old, he said. (Leonardo Micua/Nora Dominguez)
