ALTERNATIVE JOBS OFFERED
THE Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) has began helping colorum tricycle owners-drivers affected by the “Oplan Zero Colorum” of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) find other jobs as alternative to driving tricycles.
A task force was formed by PESO Manager Joy Siapno to assist the drivers of colorum tricycles in seeking better options instead of plying the streets without a tricycle franchise and risk being fined and their units impounded.
So far, eight tricycle drivers were already provided with bio-data forms and SRS forms to be accomplished after receiving tips on job vacancies available here and abroad from PESO.
“We will personally refer them to the companies that will need their skills,” said Siapno.
At least 70 colorum tricycles were impounded by POSO last week in connection with its intensified campaign against colorum vehicles plying the city streets. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO)
