Balon Dagupan Children’s choir qualifies in NAMCYA 2017 national finals

THE Balon Dagupan Children’s Choir (BDCC) will compete for the national finals of the 2017 National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NMCYA) on November 26 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

The BDCC qualified for the finals following whole-day competition in the North Luzon region held in Baguio City on September 2.

Virginia Llamas-Mendoza, BDCC conductor and city’s music consultant, said the BDCC is now composed of 24 students aged 14 years old and below. The young artists are enrolled in different public and private schools in the city.

The members are Aaron Van Meneses  (West Central Elementary School), Adanna Villamil, Alleya Vanna Meneses, Alloida Yssa Bele De Guzman, and April Joy Oliveras (St. John Cathedral School); Alexa Torres and Angel M. Gutlay  (JJDVS Tech-Voc Secondary School); Althea Lei Jewel De Leon, Bianca Yvessa Sindayen, Celeste Goroza, Drixsey Maye De Venecia, Gensheal Ira  Hortaleza, Sohee M. Cho and Tiffany  Cabrera (Dagupan City National High School);  Andrei Von Hortaleza (Malued Elementary School); Angelica Bustillo and Juriel Gianna Verania (East Central Integrated School); Brent Paolo Sotto  (Edna’s School): Chrystelle Jeyd Mejia (LNU Creative Montessori Center); Jann Klein Mendoza (La Marea Academy); Janine Mae Munoz (Bolosan Elementary School); Joseph Raphael Lim and Mary Krystal Nicole  Llamas (St. Albert the Great School).

Other members who, unfortunately, will not be allowed to join the finals owing to age limit are: Euscheka Nichole Soriano (St. John Cathedral School), Jann Trix Mendoza (Mother Goose Special Science High School), Kristelle Anne Jane Selby and Marian Krissa Bangsal (Wonderland School), and Regine Erica Hortaleza.
