LINGAYEN–The two detention prisoners who escaped from the Provincial Jail here last Saturday morning were captured within 24 hours after they fled while carrying out tasks.

Gender Arzadon, 22, of Mabini Street in Binmaley town, the last of two who escaped peacefully surrendered to elements of the Lingayen and Binmaley Police Stations and provincial jail guards.

Arzadon is facing a case for Violation of R.A. 9165 for possession and selling of illegal drugs.

The other escapee, Dennis Buyen, alias “Bisaya”, 27, also from Binmaley town, was captured earlier inside the Lingayen Public Market.

The two detention prisoners who escaped last August 12 but captured in less than 24 hours reportedly escaped because they wanted to run away from their debts inside the facility.

Both were among six detainees who were ordered to carry sacks of garbage from inside the facility to a waiting truck in front of the jail, escorted by jail guards.

When the guards were not looking, they jumped out of the truck and ran away to different directions. (Leonardo Micua)
