Five shabu peddlers in Dagupan arrested
THERE was no respite in the war on drugs for operatives of the Dagupan Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) when they arrested five drug peddlers in separate buy-bust operations in three different barangays of Dagupan City last week.
P/ Superintendent Franklin Ortiz, OIC-Chief of Police, identified the arrested suspects as Jeffrey Gabris, 27 years old and a resident of Perez Boulevard; Oliver Tecson, 44, employee of Dagupan City Water District and a resident of Lucao District; Mike Francis Clores, 26, helper and a resident of Mangin; Edna Esguera, 33 years old and Jennifer Meneses, 38 years old both from Malued District.
They were arrested separately in buy-bust operations, caught selling sachets of shabu to undercover police operatives.
Gabris and Tecson were arrested separately in Barangay Tapuac, Clores was arrested near a chapel in Barangay Mangin; Esguerra and Meneses Herrero-Perez.
Also arrested was Rodel Mejia, 16 years old, resident of Sitio Aling, Arellano, Pantal, who was in company of Gabris, He was caught in possession of one sachet of dried marijuana was also arrested, and was turned over to the City Social Welfare Development Office.
Ortiz said their operations were coordinated with PDEA Regional Office.
The evidence seized from all the suspects were brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory in Lingayen for laboratory tests while cases for violation of Article 11, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 are now being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, Ortiz said 29 barangays out of 31 in the city have been cleared of drugs.
Only Barangays Pugaro and 2 & 3 remain under validation by PDEA.
