PANGASINENSES came out on July 24 at the Dagupan City Plaza to show their support for President Rodrigo Duterte as he delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Lynn Ang, a businesswoman and the provincial coordinator of FORD (Friends Of Rody Duterte), gathered Duterte supporters for another chance to demonstrate their support.

“We can’t attend the SONA so I called the same people who campaigned for him during the election and have a get-together to show support,” Ang told the Philippine Information Agency.

Ang cited the impact of Duterte administration’s war on drugs in her community that was once touted as drug-infested.

“Na-feel ko sa community ko. Dati maraming nagbebenta ng drugs, ngayon, naging very peaceful kami. Malaking significance yung nararamdaman ang pagbabago all the way down,” she added.

Nelia Garcia of Calasiao town also spoke at the rally and thanked President Duterte because 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) beneficiaries like her were given additional allocation of rice.

Ginalyn Razon a supporter from Mangaldan town said the President can win his fight against criminality “kasi nakita ko na na ginagawa niya.”

Other supporters lobbied for the continuous trend in ending contractualization while others begged for the President not to phase out the age-old jeepneys as it is their source of income. (PIA-Pangasinan/ VHS)
