10 smokers booked for violating ban

MALASIQUI — Ten men were booked by the police for smoking cigarettes in various public places in Malasiqui town from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on July 26, in violation of the nationwide smoking ban.

The suspects were arrested by roving policemen on foot patrol purposely to check compliance with the Executive Order No. 26 in the town.

The arrested smokers were Rafael Montemayor, 43, an electrician; Jun Frias, 29, a vegetable vendor; Frederick Tablate, 31, a promo dicer; Reynaldo Andaya, 47, farmer; Aguedo Macaraeg 28, tricycle driver; Josselito Benigno, construction worker; Salvador Suarez, 61, photographer; Boyet Maneclang, 35, helper; Jordan Estrada, 24, jobless; and Norlito Pajares, 22, helper.
