THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), will hold ‘Kalayaan Day’ job and business fairs in three venues in Pangasinan.

Arly Valdez, information officer of DOLE Region 1, said the job and business fairs will be held at Nepo Mall in Dagupan City, CB Mall in Urdaneta City both on June 12 and Robert Estrella Gymnasium in Rosales town on June 13.

This year’s Independence Day job fair with the theme “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-samang Balikatin” aims to provide decent and easy employment for jobseekers and promote entrepreneurship for applicants who want to start their own business.

Valdez said over 30, 000 local and overseas employment opportunities are up for grabs at the different ‘Kalayaan Day’ job fair venues in Region 1.

DTI’s ‘Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan’ (TNK) program encourages those who can’t find jobs to venture into an entrepreneurial activity,” Valdez said.

Aside from the entrepreneurial seminar, the job fairs will feature one-stop-shop employment services by the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), and National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).

Meanwhile, Natalia Dalaten, DTI-Pangasinan’s chief trade and industry development specialist, said participants and jobseekers will be provided with a short seminar on how to start a business, business name registration and business consultancy. (PIA-Pangasinan/EMBS)
