Gov. Pogi distributes P4-M worth of livelihood assistance checks to 28 groups

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan- – -Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III awarded a total amount of P4 million amount of checks to some 28 groups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from different parts of the province that availed of the provincial government’s Livelihood Assistance Program on June 19 at the Ceremonial Hall of the Urduja House.
The distribution which is conducted through the Provincial Population Office is the third batch of recipients for CY 2017.
Based on PPO record, a total of P17.8-M which includes the latest distribution has been awarded to 140 groups since Gov. Pogi assumed post as the provincial chief executive in July 2016. It has benefitted around 4,152 individuals, PPO report added.
Meanwhile, the PPO report showed the provincial government has released a total amount of over P87-M since its launching in 2008 which translates to some 609 groups/associations or 21,937 individuals who benefitted from the program.
The LAP was launched under the administration of former governor now 5th district representative Amado T. Espino, Jr. to empower not just the women populace but to transform every Pangasinense family into productive units of society.
As such, Gov. Pogi urged all recipients to take care of the funds even as he encouraged them to maintain good credit standing so that the money lent to them will redound to the benefit of every member of their group/association.
The Governor also pointed out that the success of the activity depends solely on hard work and sacrifice of each and every member of the groups.
Latest batch of recipients are as follows: Talogtog Kalipi Association (Mangatarem), Patar Maculi Mothers Association (Mabini), Luyan Mapandan Farmers Association, Inc. (Mapandan), Aramal Kalipi Association (San Fabian), Kisikis Small Scale Irrigation Farmers Association (Alcala), Small Scale Irrigation System-Farmers Field Schoo; Barangay San Pedro III Farmers Association (Alcala), Brgy. Bersamin farmers & Entrepreneurs Association, Inc. (Alcala), Diamond Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Alcala), Gueset Golden Harvest Farmers Association, Inc. (Bugallon), Farmers of Buenlag Bugallon Association, Inc. (Bugallon), Alacala Onion Growers MPC, San Pedro III, Alcala (Alcala), Caoayan Farmers Irrigators Association (Sual), Barlo Agrarian Reform Cooperative (Mabini), Pinalapa Farmers Irrigators Association (Sual), Ataynan Farmers Association (Bayambang), Dalongue IA Credit Cooperative (Sta. Barbara), Great David Farmers Association (Mangaldan), San Quintin OFW Family Association (San Quintin), Sta. Maria. Mango Growers and Handlers Association (Sta, Maria), Capitan Tomas Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Rosales), San Pedro Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Mabini), Dasol Market Vendors Association (Dasol), Highlights Agri-Business Multi-Purpose Cooperative (San Manuel), Buer Rural Women’s Association (Aguilar).
For MSME, three groups were included, namely: these are Bajo’s Shellcraft and Souvenir Shop (Alaminos City), CBB Salt Producer (Infanta), and Cluie’s Needlecraft (Umingan).
For goat production, the Dasol Livestock Raisers Association received the soft loan assistance.
Other types of projects of the recipients are: farm inputs, commodity trading, souvenir retailing, salt production and procurement of raw materials. (Ruby R. Bernardino)
