Bangus growers warned of fish kill

THE Dagupan City Agriculture Office (CAO) has advised all the bangus growers to be alert and immediately harvest their bangus once they see some floating because it is an indication of fish kill.

Nonetheless, while City Agriculturist Emma Molina warned of the abnormal weather condition from the very high temperature and rain in the afternoon, she noted  that bangus growers have already adopted remedies to minimize the threat of fish kill.

As of press time, bangus retail price in the Magsaysay Market is P110 to P120 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, the CAO continues to closely monitor the entry of shellfish products from the towns of Anda and Bolinao in the city’s public markets.

Molina said the 24/7 monitoring of entry points to the city will ensure that no shellfish products still positive of red tide toxin from the two towns will be sold in the city’s markets.

Kabilang pa rin sa binabantayan natin ay mga tahong at talaba,” Molina said. (Nora Dominguez)
