ALAMINOS CITY— Six passengers suffered burns after the motorboat they were riding on caught fire Easter Sunday evening while they cruising inside the Hundred Islands National Park here.

Initial investigation showed the engine of MBCA Allan -7, a passenger boat operated by Arnold Aglinot, overheated and the gallon of gasoline beside the engine sparked while crossing the sea water of Sitio Inansuana, Barangay Lucap this city.

It was the unnamed son of the boatman who reportedly placed the gallon of gasoline beside the engine.

As a result, six of the 13 passengers suffered burns and injuries in different parts of their bodies.

A motorboat travelling nearby helped rescue the injured passengers and brought them to the wharf and were rushed to the Alaminos doctors Hospital by the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council team.

The police could not provide names of the victims immediately. (Tita Roces)
