LINGAYEN – A number of self-confessed drug users-pushers who surrendered to the police last year have since returned to their criminal activities, among them a 31-year-old single woman in Lingayen.

The town police collared Imelda Adonis Arquiza, a self-confessed user and pusher in Solis Street, Poblacion District.

P/Chief Inspector Wilmer Pagaduan, Lingayen deputy police chief, said the joint operatives of SWAT Pangasinan Police Provincial Office and Lingayen Police in the presence of barangay officials implemented a search warrant against Arquiza that resulted in the confiscation of 12 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and shabu paraphernalia.

Arquiza, who surrendered last year, was confirmed to have resumed selling and using shabu and used her house as a drug den for her customers.

Twenty-five of 32 barangays in Lingayen have been declared drug-cleared while other 7 including Poblacion are still drug affected.

Pagaduan said although the custody of the self-confessed drug personalities who surrendered have been turned over to the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADAC), police continue to monitor activities of all who surrendered.

He added that those who surrendered are obliged to join rehabilitation program of the local government. (Nora Dominguez)
