Abandoned SUV yields ammo, drug paraphernalia

THE Dagupan police is now looking for the driver of a Toyota Fortuner who abandoned it after avoiding a police checkpoint at Ayusip Road in Barangay Bonuan Boquig at about 5:00 p.m. of March 20.

He sped towards adjacent Arizona Inn where he left the unit in a hurry, leaving  a door open.

The driver of the SUV with plate no. ZST 979, who made good his escape, was later identified by the police as one Danny Lapitaje.

Found inside his vehicle were three pieces of improvised glass tooter with suspected shabu residue, six disposable lighters and other drug paraphernalia, one long magazine for cal. 5.56 armalite rifle containing two bullets, ten bullets for cal. 9mm, and one improvised vehicle plate number (ACP 2347).

Lapitaje will be charged with violation of R.A. 9165 (illegal possession of drugs) and of RA 10591 for illegal possession of ammunition.

The seized items were brought to the Dagupan City Police Station for proper disposition while cases for Violation of RA 9165 and RA 10591 are being prepared for filing in court against the suspect who remains at large. His vehicle was impounded.

Drug pusher nabbed

Meanwhile, a woman drug pusher was also arrested by the Dagupan police at around 12:30 a.m. of March 20 on MH Del Pilar St., in Barangay Mayombo selling shabu to a user.

The suspect was identified as Katrina Gracia Dimayuga, 36, of Arellano Bani, Pantal District, Dagupan City from whom police operatives seized one transparent sachets of suspected shabu and three pieces of P100 bill.

She was arrested in front of Albert Lodge where she was spotted selling one piece heat sealed plastic containing shabu. (Leonardo Micua)
