THE search is on for 10 ‘Pinablin Dagupeños’ who have distinguished themselves in public service, business, humanities, the creative arts, or in the profession they practice or the avocation they follow.

Culture and Arts Office chief Zenaida Sinlao announced that her office is now accepting nominees from nominators as to who they believe deserve to be honored as a ‘Pinablin Dagupeño’.

The nominees must be Dagupan-born and a resident of Dagupan for at least one third of his/her life and if a nominee is not a Dagupan-born, he/she should be resident of the city for at least 40 years.

Nominator can nominate any individual in any of the following fields or categories like medicine, education, community service, public service, public administration, science/technology, heritage/culture and arts, mass media/communication, law enforcement/military service, and business and entrepreneurship.

Forms are now available at the Culture and Arts Office at the city museum.

Nominees who will pass the criteria set by the Search for ‘Pinablin Dagupeños’ Committee will be honored on the 70th ‘Agew na Dagupan’ on June 20.

Sinlao disclosed that only qualified nominees will be subjected to evaluation and no incumbent official in the government service will be allowed to join the search. The awardee must not also be related by affinity or consanguinity up to the third degree to any members of the awarding committee or has given any reward, consideration, remuneration or compensation of any kind to a member of the awarding committee on matters not related to the awards.

The deadline for submission of nomination forms and other required technical evidences will be on April 14 at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Culture and Arts Office.
