THE planned Diagnostic Center and Lying-in Clinic in the city that will provide free health services like free X-Ray, Echo Cardiogram (ECG), Ultrasound and blood test with a four-bed birthing station is now under construction beside the City Health Office (CHO) in Barangay Herrero-Perez.

The construction of the clinic was made possible by the Department of Health (DOH) with its P10 million allocation under the agency’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP).

The city government will provide P3 million for the procurement of equipment for the facility while Senator Riza Hontiveros will give P2 million to further equip the center with state-of-the-art health apparatus.

We are also glad that aside from this health facility, the agency will also assist us in facilitating the prompt procurement of the needed equipment for the center,” said Mayor Belen T. Fernandez who led the groundbreaking ceremony on February 13.

Fernandez was joined by Herrero-Perez Punong Barangay Levy Tirao Sr., City Administrator Farah Marie Decano, Dr.Sheila Sabado of the CHO, Leah Aquino of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Legal Officer Victoria Cabrera, Engineer Jane Rosario of the City Engineering Office, the CHO physicians and employees, and the city’s community health nurses.
