Villasis’ Talong Festival starts January 20

IT’S ‘all systems go’ for the Talong Festival set on January 20 in Villasis town.

Reynaldo Mundo, Municipal Agriculture Officer, said the yearly Talong Festival will highlight anew the preparation of Pinakbet sa Kawa, Talong cookfest, street dancing competition and featuring “talong inspired decorations made of recycled and indigenous materials”.

The annual festival will see the participation of the town’s 32 barangays.

The program will be a celebration of the abundant harvest of mainly the eggplant (talong), and the other main ingredients (ampalaya, kamatis, okra, squash, sitaw, onions and green pepper) from the barangays particularly along the Agno River, i.e. Pias, Caramutan, Lipay, Lipay, Barangobong, Puelay, and Amanperez.
