THE regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways temporarily closed the Lingayen-Labrador diversion road to give way to the retrofitting and strengthening of the Guesang-Magsaysay Bridge.

Motorists are advised to take the Lingayen-Bugallon-Socony-Labrador route.

The temporary closure of the bridge started January 17, 2017 but no date was given for its reopening.

Worse, the DPWH 2nd Engineering Office is unable to respond to motorists’ complaints about the closure because it is not aware of the details of the repair project.

District Engr. Rodolfo Dion laments that the work on the bridge by the DPWH regional office was not coordinated with his office as required by his agency’s protocol.

“Ang problema ay hindi namin alam ang ongoing activity sa project na yan dahil hindi nasusunod ang protocol, kahit na area of jurisdiction ko pa yan, hindi nakikipag-coordinate ang project engineer ng region na nag-iimplement ng project,” Dion said.
