‘Kalusugan Karavan’ benefits 33-T P’sinenses

After its 12th leg

Lingayen – The ‘I Love Pangasinan’ Kalusugan Karavan launched by the provincial government led by Governor Amado ‘Pogi’ I. Espino, III last September 23 has benefitted about 33,000 Pangasineses from 11 towns and one city in the province who availed of the free-of-charge services offered by the mobile health care program for barangay folks.

The 12th leg of the mobile health caravan held in Balangay, Urbiztondo on November 25 wrapped up the November schedule of the said mobile health caravan. Five more legs will be conducted this December and will resume next year.

Leading the Kalusugan Karavan, Pangasinan First Lady Karina Padua-Espino reiterated to Pangasinenses during the series of mobile health caravan that the provincial government is unwavering on its vision to make Pangasinan “the home of healthiest Fiipinos.”

                  She said this, the provincial government through the Provincial Health Office which supervises the Kalusugan Karavan, remains keen and inspired in bringing health services closer to barangays.

“We shall visit all towns in Pangasinan to bring the Kalusugan Karavan,” said Mrs. Espino, who expressed gratitude to all local government units and barangay councils for the warm reception accorded to the provincial government team.

                  A package of services offered to residents during a health caravan include: supplemental feeding program, medical consultations, dental and laboratory services, malaria control program, tuberculosis control program, skin diseases consultation, flu vaccination, RCA, hygiene kits distribution, dengue control program, potable water access and rabies control program.

Based on the official report of the Provincial Health Office, the health caravan has total served 7,201 students, day care pupils and senior citizens on its supplemental feeding program; 7,932 residents undergone medical consultations; 1,996 availed of dental services; 959 were treated to free-of-charge laboratory services – 630 (blood typing); RBS (650) and UA (393).

                  Other programs with total number of beneficiaries: malaria control program (12); tuberculosis control program – Sputum exam (230) mobile chest x-ray (685); skin disease consultation (730), flu vaccination (172); hygiene kits distribution (391); dengue control program – rolls of insecticide-treated nets distributed (53) and boxes of vectrone/insecticide (32); potable water access – gerry cans (155), hyposol (226); and demonstration on HH container disinfection (1,316); rabies control program (477) and rabies control information campaign (1,460)
