Grade 10 girl killed in motorcycle accident

A GRADE 10 girl died after the motorcycle she rode was bumped by a speeding ambulance that also hurt her brother along the highway in Barangay Bonuan Gueset here while a 71- year old grandpa also perished in a separate road accident in Bani town, Pangasinan on Dec. 18.

Vanessa Cayabyab, 16, resident of Barangay Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan City, was declared dead on arrival while her elder brother, Vincent Cayabyab, 17, driver of the motorcycle was hurt and were both brought to Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) here.

P/Supt. Neil Miro, acting- Dagupan City police chief, identified the ambulance driver as Edwin Ibasan, 44, resident of Sagud-Bahley, San Fabian.

Ibasan was reportedly rushing a patient to R1MC and had just overtook another vehicle when he hit the victims’ motorcycle.

Meanwhile, in a separate road accident on the same day, Romulo Orlanda of Barangay Poblacion, Bani was hit by a Nissan Urvan driven by Noel Gacusana of Calamba, Laguna.

Orlanda was brought to Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City by responding patrollers but was pronounced dead on arrival by his attending physician.
