DCNHS wins city’s first ‘Parol and Carol Stroll’ tilt
THE Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) won, besting eight other participating schools, in the first ‘Parol and Carol Stroll’ competition held during the opening of the 2016 Dagupan City Fiesta on December 2 on the theme “Love, Live, Celebrate Balon Dagupan 2016.”
DCNHS received the P10,000 grand prize while the Federico Ceralde National High School received P7,000 as the second best and Carael National High School won the third prize of P5,000.
Other participants received P1,000 each as consolation prize.
The participating schools were judged according to the quality of their voices, clarity of the lyrics in singing their Christmas Carol, style, artistry and creative routines in their choreography, the timing and coordination, projection and expression, and precision, timing, clarity of the movements in the execution of their routine; costume and props used.
Members of the participating contingents were from Grades 9 to 11 with a minimum of 100 to a maximum of 150 students from each school.
Each contingent was encouraged to use recycled and improvised materials in lighted creative head dress, lighted or luminous musical hand props like “pinitpit ya tansan” (pressed bottle caps).
The other contingents that participated were Pugaro Integrated School, Salapingao National High School, Bonuan Boquig National High School, Judge Jose De Venecia Senior Memorial National High School and East Central Integrated School. (CIO/JCB)
