BM Sison’s misgivings about Dayan’s security
A MEMBER of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, also a relative of controversial Ronnie Dayan of Urbiztondo, posed mixed questions particularly about the propriety of the policy of government in securing the latter even as he doubted if his relative can be fully secured.
“Who is Ronnie Dayan for government to spend on, giving him special treatment by government?” Board Member Raul Palisoc Sison asked in the vernacular. “What of the ordinary citizens who need to be secured as well? And who will be responsible for him today?” he added.
Sison expressed his mixed emotions after Dayan arrived in Urbiztondo shortly after he was released from senate custody last Tuesday. Dayan was held for contempt for a day after he was deemed to be selective in his testimony during the Senate inquiry on the death of the late Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinoza Jr.
Sison said it’s not fair to give Dayan a special treatment in providing him a personal security from the PNP when in fact there are also others who need security from the undermanned police station.
Meanwhile, he also expressed doubts how Dayan can be fully secured by the PNP since he has implicated persons in high positions.
P/Chief Inspector Joshua Maximos, town police chief, said Dayan was not placed under the custody of Urbiztondo Police.
Acting-Provincial Police Director Ronald Oliver Lee confirmed that Dayan is not under his command’s custody. (Nora Dominguez)
