LINGAYEN – Hundreds of jobseekers came to take advantage of the 2nd Pangasinan Night Job Market held last December 19 at the Pangasinan Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO).
Eleven domestic companies and six overseas agencies offered jobs in the first-of-its-kind night employment activity in the country.
PESO manager Alex Ferrer said 27 applicants were hired on the spot during the evening job fair this time.
Ferrer said another night job fair will be held during the 2017 Pista’y Dayat in May.
He said the second installment of the country’s night job fair on the encouragement of Gov. Amado Espino III.
“We will continue to do this activity and more recruitment activities to help our provincemates,” Ferrer said.
Next year, PESO will roll out its Mobile Skills Training Program—a roving technical education hub to bridge the access to skills and manpower training for those live from growth centers.
This mobile classroom inside a custom-built truck will stay for 22 days in a town or city to provide trainings on “more employable skills,” i.e., carpentry, masonry, and other construction and industrial skills to be facilitated by Technology Education and Skills Development Authority. (PIO/RMCL)
