Pangasinan, hall of famer as Best NSM Province
LINGAYEN – Pangasinan was recently adjudged the regional champion in this year’s search for Best National Statistics Month (NSM) Province Implementer.
Fourth District Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, on behalf of Governor Amado I. Espino, III received the 2016 Best NSM Province Implementer regional award from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Director Socrates Ramores during the closing ceremony of the 27th National Statistics Month held in San Fernando City, La Union.
Rosario, chairperson of the provincial NSM celebration, said Pangasinan under the leadership of Gov. Amado Espino III has maintained a solid performance in the provincial NSM celebration to advance statistics as a tool for promoting development.
Contributing to Pangasinan’s over-all performance in the regional best NSM province implementer search, secondary and tertiary students in the province made a strong showing in seven out of 11 categories of five NSM events: oratorical contest, essay writing, poster and slogan making, statistics quiz and jingle making contest.
The seven regional NSM contests championship tilts of Pangasinan were:
Oratorical contest (secondary) – Jhazmyn Fallorina of Bautista National High School;
Poster and slogan making (secondary and tertiary) – Allyna Claveria of East Integrated School in Dagupan City and Mark Anthony Nesperos of Pangasinan State University – Bayambang campus;
Essay writing (secondary and government employee category) – Gaebrelle Anna Geli Zarate of Urdaneta City National High School and Mark Gerry Oblanca of Pangasinan Provincial Information Office; Jingle making contest (secondary and tertiary) – Calasiao Comprehensive National High School (Ezra Ferrer, Mark Angelo Maramba, Joshua Dangoy, Bryan de Leon, Nicole Molina, Allysa Baldemoro and Judiel Cabiles) and Colegio de Dagupan (Tyrah Lorraine Vinluan, Andrelica Borja, Hazel Mae Yumul, Patrick dela Pena, Joshua Bernabe, Erwin James Mosarbas and Alvin Miranda).
The regional NSM contests winners will be recognized during the culminating program of the provincial NSM celebration on November 9. (PIO)
