P’sinan bags 2nd HOF as Best NSM Province

Another feather in its cap has been added to Pangasinan after being adjudged as the regional champion in this year’s search for Best National Statistics Month (NSM) Province Implementer.
In 2011, the Regional Development Council and Regional Statistics Committee conferred Pangasinan’s 1st NSM Province Implementer Hall of Fame (HOF) regional award for being regional champion in 2008, 2009 and 2010. After three years 0f being exempted to join the selection of the best NSM province, Pangasinan immediately made a comeback to clinch the regional championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Fourth district Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, on behalf of Governor Amado I. Espino, III received the 2016 Best NSM Province Implementer regional award from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Director Socrates Ramores during the closing ceremony of the 27th National Statistics Month on October 27 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in San Fernando City, La Union.
The HOF award will be formally conferred to the province next year.
BM Rosario, chairperson of the provincial NSM celebration, expressed elation for the latest NSM feat of Pangasinan as he thanked the all-out participation of secondary and tertiary schools in the province to various NSM contests.
Rosario, in an interview held shortly after the regional NSM awarding rites bared that Pangasinan under the leadership of Governor ‘Pogi’ Espino has maintained a solid performance in the provincial NSM celebration to advance statistics as a tool for promoting development.
Contributing to Pangasinan’s over-all performance in the regional best NSM province implementer search, secondary and tertiary students in the province made a strong showing in seven out of 11 categories of the following five contested NSM events: oratorical contest, essay writing, poster and slogan making, statistics quiz and jingle making contest.
The seven regional NSM contests championship tilts of Pangasinan include:
Oratorical contest (secondary) – Jhazmyn Fallorina of Bautista National High School;
Poster and slogan making (secondary and tertiary) – Allyna Claveria of East Integrated School in Dagupan City and Mark Anthony Nesperos of Pangasinan State University – Bayambang campus;
Essay writing (secondary and government employee category) – Gaebrelle Anna Geli Zarate of Urdaneta City National High School and Mark Gerry Oblanca of Pangasinan Provincial Information Office
Jingle making contest (secondary and tertiary) – Calasiao Comprehensive National High School (Ezra Ferrer, Mark Angelo Maramba, Joshua Dangoy, Bryan de Leon, Nicole Molina, Allysa Baldemoro and Judiel Cabiles) and Colegio de Dagupan (Tyrah Lorraine Vinluan, Andrelica Borja, Hazel Mae Yumul, Patrick dela Pena, Joshua Bernabe, Erwin James Mosarbas and Alvin Miranda).
The regional NSM contests winners in the regional and provincial levels will also be recognized during the culminating program of the provincial NSM celebration on November 9. /MGNO
