THE Dagupan police scored big against criminal elements when they arrested five persons in two separate operations in the afternoon of Oct. 25 in the city.

First to be arrested at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday along the De Venecia Expressway in Barangay Lucao were Ronald Monsalud, 29, a fish vendor, and his companion Bernardo Flores, 51, who was listed in Barangay Lomboy’s Anti-drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list.

The two sold one sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer. Two more sachets of shabu were found on Flores

While arresting the two, lawmen chanced upon one Amalia Adoro, 25, who acted suspiciously.

Adoro, a native of Bacolod City residing in Barangay Pantal, yielded one sachet of shabu believed to have been bought from Monsalud and Flores.

In another buy-bust operation, policemen arrested two men in Barangay Pantal who were selling a home-made Cal. 38 revolver with five live ammunition to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Arrested was Roberto Gonzales, 42, a fisherman and in the drug watch list, the owner of the firearm and Dexter Rosario, a boat driver.

Tipped off by an informer that Gonzales was looking for a buyer for his home-made hand gun, policemen led by Supt. Neil Miro, chief of police, set up an entrapment against the suspects.

Gonzales was arrested after accepting the three marked P500 bills for the firearm. (Leonardo Micua)
