Teacher gunned down, 2 kin wounded
LINGAYEN—A public school teacher was gunned down while two of her kin were wounded when an unidentified hitman shot them inside their home in Jacoba street, Barangay Poblacion here Monday night.

At around 8:20 p.m., Tigno was seated at the living room, doing her lesson plan when the gunman wearing a bullcap, barged in through the door and started shooting her.
Her husband, Christopher Tigno, was checking on their children at that time in their room when the gunman attacked his wife.

Mike’s daughter Michaela, who also rushed out of their house was shot at and was hit on her left shoulder.
The gunman fled thereafter.

Mike and Michaela were later transferred to R1MC for more treatment of their gunshot wounds.
Police investigators are eyeing payback for unpaid debts owed a loan shark as motive behind her killing.
The Lingayen Police has bean tracking the suspect based on the cartographic sketch of the suspect.
Teachers in Lingayen Central School again sought police security in school following Tigno’s murder for fear of their lives.
It will be recalled that in 2014, four persons were shot dead while three others were wounded, most of them teachers, inside the Pangasinan National High School here, for failing to pay debts owed loan sharks. The perpetrator was arrested. (Tita Roces/Nora Dominguez)
