New water pumping station in Brgy Herrero-Perez
A NEW water pumping station of the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) was inaugurated Thursday in Brgy. Herrero-Perez and is expected to improve the water pressure in several barangays of the city.
Engr. Adelfo Valle, general manager of the DCWD, said the water pump has a high pressure of 22.5 liters per second and is purposely to enhance water pressure in the host barangay and in neighboring villages like Mayombo, Pogo Chico, Malued and Tapuac.
“We are grateful for the inauguration of another breakthrough in the provision of water in the city and the significant opportunity to provide customer satisfaction,” Valle said during the inauguration program.
Director Reveriana Guadiz of the DCWD Board said the pumping station inauguration is in line with the District’s commitment to provide water service in all barangays of Dagupan City as seen in the expansion projects in far-flung villages.
Mayor Belen Fernandez was elated for the rise of another public service enterprise.
“Water management and delivery is a critical element in our everyday lives. It has a great impact in our development initiatives,” Fernandez said.
Herrero-Perez is one of the busiest barangays in the city as it houses several agencies like the City Health Office, Philippine Red Cross and Bureau of Fire Protection, among others, the mayor said.
In addition, the DCWD said two more pumping stations to be located in barangays Lucao and Carael are to be built next year. Rehabilitation of four old water wells in the city is also programmed this year. (VHS/PIA-Pangasinan)
