LINGAYEN Philippine National Police (PNP) Director-General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa cited the support of Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino, III and the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office to PNP’s nationwide campaign against illegal drugs.

Gov. Espino was cited “for his valuable and continuing support to the PNP’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign Plan (Project Double Barrel) which led to several significant accomplishments against illegal drugs in the province of Pangasinan.”

DG Dela Rosa presented the citation to Mr. Espino during the 115th Police Service Anniversary celebration held at the PNP Regional Office 1 in Camp Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union on September 2.

The citation, a testament that the provincial leadership performs well in addressing drug menace in the province, is evidenced with the various support programs the provincial government have launched in support to PNP’s project double barrel which was launched last July 1.

Dela Rosa also presented special unit awards to the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.

Fifth District Rep. Amado T. Espino, Jr., who initiated various programs against illegal drugs in his 9-year stint as provincial chief executive, was present to reiterate his support for the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte.

It was during the elder Espino’s administration that budgets were allocated for the anti-illegal drugs campaign when he ordered the full-activation of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) to strengthen PNP’s efforts to curb illegal drugs.

“The momentum is ours now; let us not waste this chance,” the PNP chief stressed to his auxiliaries in law enforcement.

Other awardees from Pangasinan include: Best Provincial Public Safety and Pozorrubio Police Station for Best Women and Children Protection Desk. (PIO)
