SSS members warned on text scams

By July 10, 2016Business, News

THE Social Security System (SSS) warns the public against text scams that offer faster processing of Unified Multipurpose Identification System (UMID) card in exchange for money.

The SSS regional office said it does not rush the application for UMID cards nor does it collect fees for such purposes as card applications are processed on a first in, first out basis.

The SSS has received reports that text messages from unknown senders are being sent to members, offering assistance for a speedy processing of their UMID card application in exchange for P100 or any amount as fee.

Recipients of these fraudulent text messages are advised to immediately report it to the nearest SSS branch or call the SSS hotline at 920-6446 to 55. (AMM_PIA Pangasinan)
